I'm not even dignifying that with an answer... but I will give you an example of the sheer power Grandracmon exudes: Beelzemon, one of the DIgital World's overall most powerful people, walks up to Grandracmon and tries to say something. Grandrac turns into his true form and Beelzemon sharded himself BEELZEMON is afraid of this guy

Beelzebumon lost to Stingmon. I must say GranDracmon is cooler than Damemon. Yuu's partner or not. I think Yuu'd deserve someone better than Damemon.

But Damemon is 'good one of the bunch' in Yuu's Army, so to speak. And since Yuu becomes good, Damemon is the best choice.
