It has been awhile and I really missed this fic, it's not like it usually is. It's much more emotional, whether or not that is your cup of tea Idk
Anyways I hope you like it.
“I’m going after Yolei” Sora explained with a moan as she awoke. Gatomon tried to get her to lie still but Sora brushed her aside and clambered to her feet uneasily. “You guys get Mimi, I have faith that wherever Yolei is going is for our benefit” Sora told Gatomon and Kari.
“She didn’t even know where she was going; I think Hawkmon has lost it!” Kari protested uneasily. Sora shot her a stern look. Kari sighed “Okay...” she mumbled angrily as she charged over to Mimi and beckoned Gatomon to follow her.

“Yolei! Just up ahead there is a small swarm of Numemon that are terrorising a bank, it’s up to us to stop them!” Peacockmon shouted through the sound of the air pushing against them.
“It’s windy today!” Yolei shouted back
“Yolei!”
“Okay, fine. How do you know this anyway?” Yolei asked as she looked down at her multicoloured partner.
“I am a bird of miracles; I am miraculously told that this is our duty-” Peacock paused as he descended quickly. “Yolei it’s time, move quickly I don’t have long left. I need directions” Peacockmon explained.
“Why do you need directions?” Yolei asked.
“I have lost my eyesight in return for this information-” Yolei gasped
“That’s awful!” she exclaimed
“Don’t worry, it is only while until I devolve” Peacockmon explained nonchalantly as he glided down to the suburban area. People below pointed and gasped, the police cordon tried to warn her away with shouts from their megaphones and warning shots but the sound made it easy for Peacockmon to glide safely to the ground.

Kari ran over to Mimi and rubbed the ice on her face with her hand so it was easier to see through. “Mimi, can you hear me!?” Kari shouted at the glass. Gatomon walked over elegantly and smiled.
“Kari, let me deal with this...” she ordered. Kari looked at her confused. “I need you to show some courage Kari” Gatomon explained, her voice was no longer hers, it was more gravely. Kari grabbed her phone and scrolled down the contacts. She selected one and waited until they picked up.
“Davis! I love you!” Kari shouted down the phone, blushing scarlet as she did. Gatomon’s eyes burst wide and Kari dropped her phone onto the ground.
Kari looked at her Digivice and gasped as it exploded with a red light. Gatomon looked up as the Digi-Egg of Courage burst into existence above her and exploded into red energy. It engulfed her and the Digivice called out the Digivolution. “Courageous Digivolution!” it shouted. Kari stepped back in awe as the egg peeled back and a flaming tiger burst out. It had tough, sharp claws and teeth. This was no longer Gatomon.
“Gatomon...” Kari mumbled as Lynxmon roared and unleashed flames from its body, they knocked Kari back and she screamed in pain as she landed on her back and smacked her head off the cold, hard ground.
“Howling Buster!” it shouted. Lynxmon unleashed flames from its mane at Mimi’s ice prison abruptly. Mimi leapt to the side as the flames continued coming, despite her being free. “Who’s that!?” Mimi called, panicked.
“I don’t know...” Kari replied, solemnly.
“Then it’s kick Izzy time!” Mimi grinned mischievously as she burst into action.
She grabbed a red safety ring from the lifeguards chair and launched it at Lynxmon as it roared. It landed around Lynxmon’s neck and Mimi held on to the rope that was wrapped around her hand and the ring. Lynxmon roared and lifted its head up, sending Mimi flying into the air.
“I wish I was as brave as you Mimi...” Kari whispered, sadly.
“All that stuff Michael taught me is coming to fruition!” Mimi laughed as she pulled the rope, reeling herself in so she landed onto Lynxmon’s back. She reached forwards and tied the rope around Lynxmon’s jaw, tightly before she back flipped off and looked at her handiwork.
“Kari-” Mimi panted. Kari looked up from the ground. “Thanks...” Mimi panted. Kari smiled and her Digivice began to glow. Pure white light burst from it in an unexplainable, uncontrollable, unpredictable flurry.
“What’s going on, Mimi!?” Kari shrieked her Digivice went insane.
“Your crest is coming in handy. You and Gatomon lost your way, like your brother did once... and now it’s time for you to get back on the right path, just like he did.” Mimi explained knowledgably. She stepped back from Lynxmon and indicated the bucking Digimon with a wave of her hand. Kari just stared. “Kari, it’s up to you!” Mimi shouted through the muffled roaring of Lynxmon and the whirring of the Digivice as it went into overdrive. Kari felt uneasy but she felt her feet move slowly as she walked towards Lynxmon, reaching out with her free hand.
“Save me Kari!” Gatomon’s voice called out into Kari’s head as she looked at the Lynxmon and it stared back viciously. “I’ll try... Gatomon.” Kari muttered as she reached out and placed her hand onto the Lynxmon, it tried to retreat and force her away but Kari held firm. She moved her Digivice forwards instinctively and pointed it at Gatomon.
“Skull Purity!” the Digivice shouted, it was her brothers voice now. A tear trickled down Kari’s face as she felt her brother beside her, in spirit. He had been through this too but he was so much stronger than she was. “You can do it Kari...” his voice whispered in her ear as she felt her light battle with the darkness that had overcome Gatomon.
Mimi looked on in shock as she saw Kari fighting so hard. “She’s grown up to be a wonderful person...” Mimi muttered as she looked over her shoulder to the spirits of Chuumon and Wizardmon floating next to her. They both nodded and smiled happily at Mimi.
“You have grown too” Wizardmon added as both spirits faded. That’s when Mimi remembered the time she had refused to fight. She often figured it was just something that happened but now she realised it defined her. She was always there to lend a helping hand but sometimes that left her heartbroken. “Michael, I’m sorry...” Mimi muttered as she began to daydream, she was broke out quickly as Kari flew backwards in an explosion of light.

Sora ran across town, following the trail of rainbows as best as she could. She wondered how it had got down to the original Digidestined babysitting the new Digidestined as she remembered back to the time that she had been turned into a key ring just to help T.K and Kari escape Piedmon. “Your bravery is key” her Digivice whispered. Sora looked at it to see those words on the screen with a small smiley face at the end
“Gennai...” Sora sighed as she gathered her bravery and gained speed. The wall up ahead was at least four foot high, it was menacingly scary but it was no Piedmon. She pushed down with all her force and landed on the top of the wall, she looked across the town to see the large circular area with the bank building covered by a swarm of Numemon. “Mimi won’t like this...” Sora sighed as she leapt down and ran over to a group of hooligans; one was holding a crowbar as he stared –open mouthed– at the Numemon. Sora ran past and snatched the crowbar, much to the group’s anger. “I’ll return it in a bit!” Sora promised as she saw Peacockmon land.

“Rainbow shower!” Peacockmon shouted, flapping its wings furiously. Rainbows burst from them and turned several Numemon to data.
“Okay now to the left!” Yolei shouted. Yolei began looking around she spotted Sora. “Hey girl!” Yolei shouted, looking at her friend as she saw her smash a Numemon into data with nothing but a crowbar.
“Yolei!” Hawkmon’s voice called. Yolei spun around as she saw the Numemon mobbing Peacockmon.
“Run!” she shouted to Peacockmon. Peacockmon immediately tried to run the other way but a quick tug from Yolei had them both charging towards Sora.
Sora sighed “At least babysitting gets me three fifty an hour” Sora groaned as she turned and began to run. “What’s your plan?” she shouted to Yolei as her breathless friend caught up to her.
“I don’t know, this, I guess. I was hoping you had something” Yolei gasped for air as they ran and Peacockmon began to become Hawkmon again mid stride. “Keep up!” Yolei shouted, breathlessly to Hawkmon as they ran.
“We can’t run forever!” Sora shouted angrily as she turned a corner into the park.
“You don’t have to! Spiral Twister!” a familiar voice shouted. Sora and Yolei skidded to a halt and Hawkmon collapsed onto the gravel in the park. “Are you ready?” the pink bird with blue tints and a single curled feather on her head asked to Sora.
“Naturally” Sora laughed as she withdrew her Digivice.
“Digivolution!” It shouted as light burst from it and Biyomon began to evolve in a burst of colourless data.
The data burst open and Sora turned to the wave of Numemon “Let’s get ‘em Birdramon!” Sora shouted to her closest friend.
“You may want to take another look” Hawkmon mused before collapsing face first back into the gravel. Sora turned around, confused and was shocked to see a strange Digimon stood where Biyomon had been.
“I’m Karatenmon” the Digimon explained.
“I see...” Sora mumbled slowly.
Karatenmon was about five or six foot tall with jet black wings protruding from his shoulders. In his hands were two small, thin, copper swords, one in each hand. He had black hands and feet, both of which were like birds claws. The ‘hands’ were made up of just two claws and another, shorter claw, similar to a thumb. The ‘feet’ were just two longer claws; all had black talons on the end. It had purple bracers and red bandages wrapped around the rest of its arms. It wore purple chest armour and a purple helmet with a yellow diamond protruding from the forehead and with holes for its red eyes to peek through. Around its waist was a black belt which held up the frayed, dirty, cream cloth that hung limply. It wore white pants and purple greaves and had a black, feathered tail. “Harmony Swords...” It muttered, lifted its swords up it formed an ‘x’ with them and they began to glow, the light spread across its body and then receded into its head.
“I am ready” Karatenmon announced as it charged forwards.
“Just in time” Yolei muttered
“If you call waiting till we are physically exhausted in time then yes” Hawkmon chirped as he clambered to his feet, a quick thump from Yolei sent him back to the ground. Sora watched as Karatenmon slashed with his blades quickly to wipe out the first wave, avoiding every single attack with expert timing. It flew into the air and looked at Sora once before it flapped it’s wings and unleashed some of them, sending them rocketing towards the Numemon, they struck most and then exploded, releasing shockwaves throughout the entire Numemon army. As the dust and smoke cleared Karatenmon turned back into Biyomon and flapped her wings as she fell down, exhaustedly. Sora leapt under her friend and caught her, hugging her tightly.
“I missed you” Sora sobbed, muffled as her face was pressed into Biyomon’s. Biyomon hugged back and smiled kindly.
“I missed you too” she whispered as she slowly released the hug and hovered back away from Sora and landed on the ground softly. Sora looked at Biyomon again and burst out into tears.
“Why’d you have to come back, you’ve got me started now...” Sora sobbed as she looked at her familiar friend and her heart broke into a million pieces. This Digimon could do or fix more damage than anyone else ever could.
“Don’t be silly” Yolei laughed as she helped Hawkmon up and they all walked over and hugged Sora to subside her sobbing.
“I still remember all the times we had” Sora mused once she finally calmed down and they all sat down on the gravel as everyone tried to work out what was going on.
“Me too” Biyomon replied, cheerfully.
“Tell me a story about it?” Yolei asked, excitedly.
“Yolei doesn’t know what she’s saying, she’s just tired” Hawkmon protested and Sora opened her mouth.
“Another time, maybe” Sora laughed. All four of them joined in and they sat laughing, it was as if they had never grown up.
I kinda winged it 'cos I had no inspiration but I kinda like it
