Yes indeedy, life never spins the same coin twice, so why should I write the same fic twice with a different dedication? This is sort of a sequel to my birthday fanfic to Rora but you don't need to read the first to understand this, it helps though. This goes out to my awesome ff.net friend LeaLea1992, whom is an amazing person and writes great fics, seriously check them out if you have time on fanfiction.net, anyways...
Kari was now eight, well she would be once she blew out the candles. It was a family tradition that they stayed the same age until the candles were blown out, so officially Tai's birthday changed when he turned eleven because he was drunk and then passed out from three till three the next day. Her mum had never trusted him with a party again. She looked around, there were presents, cards, money and well wishes galore. There was one problem, she looked at her mum then looked the other way... No Tai. As much as he was a pain she had planned to get him back for her earlier birthday today, she had been planning it so long and now her plans were going to come to fruition! If only he was here, that is.
She tapped her finger on the table while her mum waited, first expectantly and then with boredom and finally a slight tinge of annoyance. "Kari!" her mother screamed but by the end of her daughters name her tone had lowered, making her sound like a pubescent boy.
"Yes, Mummy?" Kari asked as she smiled broadly at her mother.
"Blow the candles out" Mrs. Kamiya said with a heavy sigh. Kari looked around one last time, with hope in her eyes that was quickly crushed, no Tai.
"Okay..." Kari said with a frown. Mrs. Kamiya withdrew a camera and got ready to take a picture, Kari breathed in and made her wish 'I wish that my brother was here' she thought the words then blew, as she did the doorbell rang. Her mother sighed happily and then exhaustedly as she looked at the picture then answered the door. Kari grinned as she hoped for Tai. The door slammed "It was just a guy with a package for you, Kari come help me it's like a lamp or something, I think Aunt Edna went to another garage sale" Mrs. Kamiya said with a sigh as she lifed one end of the heavy box, she heard a grunt as Kari picked up the other end. "Okay turn now" Kari said as they rounded the corner into the living room and set it down next to her cake. Her mother nodded as Kari looked at the present with a grin.
Kari went to town on it, tearing the paper to shreds then cracking the crate open with a crowbar conveniently ducktaped to the side of the crate. As she did she saw something she'd never forget.
Her brother stood there holding a cake that looked mauled and disgusting and as Kari looked up she saw Tai's face dripping with cake "You could try lifting me better next time, mum" Tai said with a sigh as some cake fell from his face and 'splatted' on the floor. Mrs. Kamiya laughed as Kari stood on her tip toes and kissed Tai on the cheek, she snapped the picture as Kari turned and licked Tai's face, then another as Tai pushed the cake up onto Kari's face, the food fight that followed took weeks to clean up.
I hope you enjoyed it and by gum is it long xD.
