Yugi stood frozen in spot as a maniac aimed the laser at him. He was frozen in shock, completely unable to move. I couldn't stand if something happened to him. So, I'd rather die than let that laser kill him.
As soon as laser was powered up, I threw myself between the beam and Yugi. The beam hit me instead. I fell on ground. I could feel I was on brink of death. I saw Yugi kneeling next to me."
Well, this was one time his shortness could have the advantage. We were near ocean floor, so as Yugi stood up, I tripped him, so he fell into water. I jumped in after him and grabbed him by the arm. Then I swam towards other shore.
I could feel my inner cells mutilating into something malicious. Still, I kept swimming. Finally, I reached the shore. I climbed onto it, then pulled Yugi up.
He was safe. I lay on ground, ready for my death. Once again, I saw his face above mine.
"Why did you receive that beam, Tea?" he asked
I chuckled.
"You're rather clueless about my feelings, aren't you, Yugi? Well, I love you. I loved you since I met you. I dreamed to marry you some day. But I guess it won't be possible now, since I've died for you. Still, you would live, and that's enough for me. Don't let my death cloud your enjoyement of life." I smiled "Living without you wouldn't have been possible for me. May it be a comfort to you that I love you. I'll watch over you as spirit. Goodbye, my love." I whispered, pinching my nose.
I thought about all the times we were all together. Yugi, me, Katsuya, Shizuka, Marik and Ryou. Seto, Mokuba and Ishizu were busy with their work, but even they visited us when they were free.
Marik, Ryou and Yugi were awfully quiet at our meetings. We all brushed it off as a side effect of their Yami's. But when Ryou and Marik comitted suicide a year ago, we were all proven wrong. Some kind of other force was after them. It caused Marik and Ryou to commit suicide and it caused that maniac to try to kill Yugi.
"Reveal yourself!" I shouted
And it did. It revealed itself as Millenium Scales
"Why?" I asked
"You know why. Ryou, Marik and Yugi wielded my brothers, Ring, Rod and Necklace. And they wielded their spirits as well. I wanted my brothers and their spirits to return to me. That's why."
"That doesn't make any sense." I said, confused
"Trust me, Tea. Your dream is to be a dancer. Mine is to have my brothers beside me. We must achieve our dreams. Now, I could save your life if you agree to help me kill Yugi." The Scales offered me
"Thanks, but no thanks." I said "I won't betray Yugi. I'm his friend and I love him" I refused
"Then die, foolish girl. You refused a chance to grasp your dreams and that's foolish." The Scales said coldly.
I felt life leave me. Still, I was happy. I hugged Yugi's waist with my free hand and laid my hand on his shoulder.
I may die, but it'll be with the one I love.
