It will be a death fic, but not what you'd expect
A creature soared through the sky, carrying two humans in its strong arms. A boy and a girl, more specifically. The boy had white hair and his eyes were really cute chocolate orbs. He wore a stripped shirt and green trousers. The girl had light brown hair and gentle green eyes. She wore a simple lavender dress. And behind them were three men on horses, chasing them. They all had brown hair, icy eyes and dirty brown suits. Their horses were no match for the monster two friends, who were secretly in love.
"Ryou, will you summon a monster already? They're gaining on us!" the girl screamed
"But, Shizuka, we have your St. Joan!" Ryou exclaimed
"Unless you didn't notice, she is our means of transportation."
"Oh, right..." Ryou trailed off "I summon..."
Then, Ryou yelped in pain, clutching his stomach. And that was all it needed. The Ring appeared on Ryou's chest and it appeared.
"I'll protect you two." It chuckled maniacally. It summoned a very powerful creature, known as Dark Necrofear.
While Dark Necrofear warded off the men on horses, it began chanting. Soon, the hole opened in the sky, sucking the men on horses into the Shadow Realm. After that, it gave control back to Ryou. He groaned, and looked up. Shizuka put on a fake smile. St. Joan howered near the ground, allowing Ryou to climb down. Shizuka did the same. St. Joan landed gracefully behind her owner.
Ryou waved goodbye and left. St. Joan and Shizuka watched him leave.
"What do we do, St. Joan? Whenever the Ring is thrown away, it just keeps coming."
"Whenever it's thrown away, yes." St. Joan's eyes locked with Shizuka's and the later gasped
"You know, I've read a certain book. There was another ring that kept coming back when thrown away. In the end, it faced molten destruction in the ashes of place from where it came. And if I'm not mistaken, all Millenium Items, including the Ring, came from..."
"...from Kul Elna." St. Joan finished.
"Right. Which means we need to get Ryou and go to Egypt. Once there, will track down Kul Elna ruins, make a large bonfire and burn the Millenium Ring in it.
Ryou was watching the TV, laughing at Charlie Chaplin, who was eating a shoe, when the bell rang. Curious, he went to open it. Shizuka was at the door, St. Joan howering beside her. Shizuka opened her palm, and two small creatures, red and blue, flew out and disappeared.
"That was the Deliquent Duo, right?"
"Yup. A very close friend of mine gave them to me. They'll be on a lookout for any interruptions. If someone is coming, they'll pluck one card from my deck." She put a deck onto her left palm and sat down beside Ryou.
"Now, I've booked a flight for you. me and St. Joan. We're going to Egypt to get rid of your Yami. Naturally, you must bring the Ring."
"Of course. You know, I've always hated my Yami."
In an hour, two teenagers were at the Domino Airport. Ryou carried the Ring around his neck, while Shizuka held a St. Joan card in her hand. They entered the plane soon, found their seats and rested comfortably, chatting about normal things.
The irony was that none of them was normal. Ryou had an evil split personality, while Shizuka doned a monster that could understand her.
The plane took of and they were on their way to Egypt.
"So, uh, Ryou. Do you like someone? As in romantically."
"Well, you." Ryou answered, blushing.
And thus they talked throughout the entire flight, effectively killing of boredom and anticipation. Finally, they landed in Egypt. Shizuka immediately summoned St. Joan, climbing onto a monster and helping Ryou climb also.
"Now, I need to activate this GPS and type Kul Elna." Shizuka did so, and a map appeared, with red X marking the exact location of Kul Elna.
"St. Joan..." Shizuka commanded, and the angel whirled around and flew eastwards.
Finally, they arrived to Kul Elna. It was modernized now, but the ancient temple in which the Millenium Items were created was still there. Ryou and Shizuka entered, blocking the door. Ryou layed down the firewood he was carrying and Shizuka light it on fire. Once fire started burning, Ryou plucked his Ring off his neck and threw it into the fire. It started burning and was completely burnt in six hours. The Evil Spirit died with it.
Ryou and Shizuka both rejoiced, for it was the end of the Spirit that controlled him and made his life miserable.
"Could we have a vacation here?" Ryou asked "I've always wanted to have a holiday in Egypt.
Shizuka laughed.
"Sure, why not?" she replied.
And so, they booked a hotel room overlooking the sea. In morning, they went of the beach and returned at noon. At four o'clock, they went to beach again. And the evening, they remained locked in their room and they did what lovers do. All in all, it was a pretty good holiday they provided themselves.
