I have to agree, I'm not usually a big fan of longer hair but it worked well on Riku. I like Sora's look, it's sort of back to the original which is nice.

he seems to have gotten shorter in KH2 he and Riku seemed about the same height

I think parts of 3D are memories, or reliving past moments, so the younger looks kinda make sense. Their looks change throughout the game as they relive past moments.

You're right they do. I've seen some screen shots and gameplay and they look normal at some spots.
