A/N: Okay, the premise for this is reeeaaaaalllllyyyyyy complicated. It's main characters are three dimension-hopping travellers whose worlds have been destroyed or lost. The three characters are not original; they're Captain America(AKA Steve Rogers), Samurai Jack, and the Joker(whose story is much more somber than you'd think). They don't travel together, but this chronicles their search for a home within the varied worlds of the Multiverse.

Chapter 1: Jack's Perspective
____________________________________________________
It is raining. Why does it always rain when I reach a world? I trudge through the mud and the rain. My sword is at my side, the only faithful companion of mine in all this time. It has been five years since I defeated Aku and was cast away from my world. My hair lies unchecked on my face. I no longer tie it anymore. What is the point? My kimono is sullied with the blood of my enemies and the mud that is continually a fixture upon my attire. I have stopped washing it. The only thing clean is my sheathed sword. I wonder if anyone else endures the fate that I have been cursed with. It is a haunting existence indeed. I have not even looked up from my weighted walking to examine the world around me. I do so. I am in a samurai's paradise. It looks very similar to my own time and world. I would hope to stay here, but there will be something that will drive me away. There always is. A man in a black kimono greets me. Apparently, I have stumbled upon the town gate. I bow respectfully. The stranger smiles and follows suit. He seems quite friendly. The man is quite tall and muscular. His sword bears no sheath or blade. It is quite strange. His hair is slicked back like a hair style that I have seen on different worlds. He wears a pair of sunglasses as well. It is truly a strange man.
"Hello, strange samurai, my name is Tenshi.", he greets. I decide to oblige his hospitality as we walk through the muddy streets. The town has numerous shops lining its streets which more than likely double as houses. There are a few houses that are not also businesses that are more than likely dojos or family homes. There seems to be a mix of machine and man. There are several machines that are used as advertisment for the shops. They do not short-circuit in the rain. Strange. Why do I get the feeling like a fight shall take place? Is it the rain?
"I am Jack.", I respond. The stranger gives me a curious look but decides to keep moving. We are getting strnage looks from the townspeople. Why is this world so strange? He takes me to someone's home. The home is very plain with little that sets it apart from the other houses, save its red roof. It is the only one I have observed when walking through the city. He opens the door and offers my entrance. I hesitate. He shakes his head.
"Please, I insist." I finally oblige him and step through the door. He follows me through and shuts the door. Despite the plain-looking door and exterior, it is a palace on the inside. Golden trinkets line the walls, golden tapestry adorns the ceiling, and the number of rooms is staggering. The floor is very soft despite its wooden covering, and the walls seem to be sturdy enough to fend off even the mightiest of attacks. Tenshi merely signals for me to follow him. I oblige. After all, I am but a guest in his home. He leads me to a throne room, the first room I have seen with people in it. There are servants attending to every need of the people within the "king" of this house's court. Tenshi walks over and sits on the throne. I bow respectfully, as does everyone within the court. Tenshi seems a little annoyed with the show of respect. Apparently, the rigors of being a lord does not suit him. He claps his hands together to get everyone's attention.
"I have brought this man before me; because he is a newcomer and might posess a challenge to me. I know you enjoy this so much, my people.", he announces. The court works itself into a frenzy. They wish me to fight their king? Strange.
"I am sorry, Jack, but they always force the newcomers to fight me anyways. Of course, you must defeat my royal guard first." He yells for his guards, and thirty samurai surround me, blades drawn. This does not look good. Why does every world I travel to end up like this? Why must I continue fighting? Why am I always alone when I fight? Why am I always alone?
