Just wrote this cause I feel a little lost coming back after I have been away.
“I’m lost…” the words echoed through the darkness, rebounding and shaking the meek body that stood with its eyes open wide. “How did I get here…?” it whispered slowly, the darkness overpowering. A tear rolled down the soft fleshy cheek and hit the ground, as it did the sound of a ripple become omnipotent, knocking the small frame into the pool that had appeared beneath her feet.
“H-Help…” the voice begged, it was breaking, brittle now as the cold bit deep into her body. “Someone…” she whispered, barely finding the strength to move her mouth. “I’m lost” she shivered, teeth chattering and looked around. It was still so dark and there was no sign of the terrain changing anytime soon. “I-” she took in a mouthful of water as the water rose “I’m lost!” she quietly pleaded, wishing for the turmoil to end but there was no end in sight. “I- I can’t hold on m- much l- l-” she began to shake violently, her eyelids getting heavy “I’m f-f-f- falling!” she yelped as the dark water tugged at her ankles.
A hand flew out and grabbed her own “Kari, it’ll be okay”
